Well, filming for the most book burning program known to man, Game of Thrones, has begun for season 5. And thanks to Watchers on the Wall, we’ve gotten a look at many of the characters, sets and locations that are going to be seen this season. As I’ve been perusing the pictures, something has been weighing on my mind : where are the rest of the characters?!?!?!? As wel all know, the majority of the POV characters will be seen in season 5, but what about the other characters that have an important role to play?

1) No Greyjoys

Let’s start with the Greyjoys. Yes, I know that Yara (real name ASHA) and Theon have been on the show, but will we see the rest of House Greyjoy? Aeron (Damphair), Victarion and Euron (Crow’s eye) will become major players this season after the death of Balon Greyjoy. Quite frankly, the Iron Islands are in need of a new king and the “Kingsmoot” is so important in choosing the next ruler of the Iron Born.  Equally as important is HOW the Iron Born will contribute to the happenings in Westeros!!!! WHY DO D&D NOT THINK THIS IS IMPORTANT?!?!?!

2) No Manderly

And what about the North? Not all the Northmen perished at the Red Wedding. As a matter of fact, there’s one lord who commands more ships, men and horses than anyone in King’s Landing knows about. Who is this man? Why,  its Lord Too-fat-to-sit-a-horse, Wyman Manderly, the Lord of White Harbor who is staunchly loyal to House Stark. He is determined to see House Stark take back what is theirs.  Again, no Manderly on the casting lists..no pictures of White Harbor that I’ve seen. Wyman Manderly has a HUGE (pun intended) role to play and is an integral part to the North.  If D&D decide to give Manderly’s plotline to another character (like they’re doing in Dorne) then I’m jumping through the Moon Door.

3) No Arianne

I’ve already written about why Jaime going to Dorne sucks, but there’s an even bigger reason why Dorne is going to suck and that is because of the omission of Arianne. Who is Arianne? Well, she’s the oldest child of Doran Martell and his heir!!!! NOT Trystane!!! Arianne is one of the reasons why Dorne is so awesome. The Dornish practice primogeniture and do not care if the firstborn child is male or female!! With all of the gratuitous sex and rape and nudity, wouldn’t it be cool of D&D to actually show some sort of female empowerment?! (I mean they made Asha this watered down replica of herself and even took away her true name, but I digress). Instead of Arianne, we are getting Ellaria in her place! Ellaria who wants NO PART of Doran’s plans! This is just getting disrespectful.

Who really knows what is going to happen in season 5? All I know is that there is still a lot of book yet to cover and there is no need for this malarkey that D&D is feeding us. There’s no need to create mind numbing copies of these characters that we all love! NO NEED!

There are other set pics in which she has blonde hair. She must dye her hair black in-universe for that plot at the end.
